Free internet of BTCL for the family of Birshreshtha 




Dhaka: Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL) has launched free telephone and internet services for the family members of the country's heroes.

Last October 1, the first child of Bir Shrestha Nur Mohammad Sheikh was deleted. BTCL's free telephone and internet connection has been provided at Hasina Haque's Jessore's Nilganj (Sahapara) residence, Mir Mohammad Morshed, the company's general manager (public relations and publications), said on Thursday (October 15th).

He said the 160th board meeting of BTCL had recently approved a policy on providing telephone / internet connection to the family members (wives and children) of the heroes.According to the policy, a free BTCL residential telephone and internet connection will be provided at the residence of the family members of Birshreshtha. The company will provide connections in BTCL's service areas subject to network feasibility.



The highest military award given to Bangladesh for its heroism in the great war of independence is 'Bir Shrestha'. The medal is given in recognition of a warrior who has shown unparalleled courage and self-sacrifice on the battlefield. This medal has been given to seven freedom fighters who were martyred in the war of independence. The seven heroes are Captain Mohiuddin Jahangir, Sepoy Hamidur Rahman, Sepoy Mostafa Kamal, Engine Room Artifier Mohammad Ruhul Amin, Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman, Lance Naik Munshi Abdur Rauf and Lance Naik Nur Mohammad Sheikh. Mir Mohammad Morshed said BTCL is proud to be a partner in providing telephone and internet services to the families of these best children in the country.
