Why doesn't self-help focus on specific skills to improve your life?


It does.
The number 1 skill that really improves our life is the ability to focus on what truly matters.
What this is, is an individual choice and depends on our horizon of knowledge and perceptions.

Awareness - learn how to be present in the moment.

What do you see, hear, feel, taste, smell, sense, and perceive right now in this very moment?
Pay attention and FOCUS.

Breathe - at least once a day for 3min, breathe in counting to 3 in your mind, and breathe out counting to four in your mind. Time it. FOCUS.

Pay attention to what you eat and drink. Is it healthy? Beneficial? Easy to digest for you? Does it make you feel good? Is it good quality? FOCUS.

Relationships - are they adding to your well-being or draining you?
Are they enjoyable interactions or bring you loads of problems?
Are boundaries respected or simply ignored?

Are they able to self-regulate and communicate properly or are they toxic, manipulative, and abusive? FOCUS.

Do physical exercises bring you enjoyment and pleasure getting into shape or pain and injuries? FOCUS.

Is your mindset geared toward the best possible outcome or focused on what is not working? FOCUS.

Do you know who you are and do everything that is in your power to learn and

find out more or you are content in being in the dark and live by chance? FOCUS.

Finances - do you learn the necessary skills or have a happy go lucky approach? FOCUS.


Work - is it a must or a pleasure? FOCUS.

Giving back comes easy or is it a burden and you are greedy and stingy and couldn’t be bothered? FOCUS.

Do values and beliefs matter to you or you just dabble through life like a parrot imitating others. - FOCUS.

Do you see the positive or the negative in situations and outcomes? - FOCUS.

Self-discipline is what it takes to improve 1 - 12.


You develop it, or you don’t.

It all depends on how badly you want something.
